Monsters

This is the Matchbox Yeti.

Here it is with the Toobs Yeti.

This is a Matchbox bear that I use for a Bigfoot.

Yeti

Toob Yeti, from the Cryptozoology set.

With a 1/72nd scale figure for size.

Probably a bit large, but how large is a Yeti?

Bigfoot from the same set.  Looks a lot like the Yeti.

Cryptids

Toobs now makes a Cryptozoology  set.

Coelacanth with Tarzan from the Airfix / HaT Tarzan set.

Coelacanth were found off the coast of Africa so why not a Tarzan?

Lock Ness Monster from Scotland.

Tarzan, Lord Greystoke did travel to the UK.

Johnny Weismuller in Tarzan and the Loch Ness Monster.  One of my favorite movies from the 1930's.

Mining Dump Truck

New Matchbox low profile dump truck.

Perfect for using in underground mines.

Big tires carry a heavy load.

Low profile design allows it to travel in low ceiling tunnels.

It's a good model without any need for modification, other than perhaps weathering.

Dump bucket actually works.

Rear view.

X-Ray Scanner

New Matchbox truck.

It's an x-ray scanner.

Use it to detect bombs and other contraband.

Put it at military bases, airports,

city hall, shipping ports,

space launch sites, major sporting events,

Anyplace large crowds of people or cargo are present.

Shown here with the little Jeep.

Jeep

Matchbox has been doing a lot of Jeeps recently.

And Jeep has been doing retro Jeeps in real life.

This little beauty is much smaller than usual for Matchbox.

I got a few of them for my Pentomic Army.

I am considering leaving them just as they are.

Maybe paint the bumpers and spare tire.

Buildings

Dollar Tree often has little buildings.

They work very well for 15mm to 1/72nd scale.

These are from last Halloween.

They often have them for Christmas, and even Easter.

The Halloween ones are nice because they are often run down or damaged.

That makes them look better for war zone buildings.

Usually they need some repainting.

Being ceramic they are difficult to convert.

Still with careful use of a razor saw or sanding they can be modified.

Best thing is, the are only a dollar.

Tim Mee and Lido

Lido troops, they had no bases but stand up well without them.  I often used them as Marines until the MPC troops came out.

Like the Tim Mee, I like the standing firing rifle guy.

Standing firing pistol guy, I like that one.

I got all these at a hobby show recently.  It was a good haul.

The walking man with the SMG often has a broken barrel, these guys were perfect.

For some reason, many of the Tim Mee guys were chewed on.

I also like this color, they came in several shades of green.
