Gettysburg

Confederate cavalry at Gettysburg.

CPT America and the Fantastic Four arrive.

Using Reed Richards time travel device, they fight against the Skrulls.

The Skrulls had gone back in time to make sure the Confederates win the war.

The Human Torch is able to burn up some of the Skrull weapons.

The Invisible Girl provides a force field to protect against Skrull energy weapons.

By mixing different kinds of troops you can have all sorts of different combat, even at a real battlefield, like Gettysburg.

Gettysburg

Union troops hold the high ground.

Only the bravest men carry the standard.

They fire into the Confederates.

But still the Rebels keep coming.

More Union troops arrive and counter attack.

They close on the enemy.

Then the Skrulls show up.

Gettysburg

1/72nd scale figures at Gettysburg.  The metal figure in the lower left is Musket Miniatures.

Horses from Atlantic, Revell, and Eagle Games.

Taking photos low to the ground with the background still visible.

I like taking photos at real historical sites.

These soldiers are at Little Round Top.

Gettysburg Troops

ACW 1/72nd figures at Little Round Top.

Figures by Musket Miniatures, Imex, Revell, Odemars, Eagle Games and Giant of Hong Kong.

This big rock was at the edge of the slope.

By photographing them at a low angle, I could get the background of Gettysburg.

I think it turned out pretty well.

Gettysburg

Gettysburg has been largely preserved as it was in the battle.

A monument presented by FDR.

Dozens of little houses and barns are still where they were then.

There is lots of open land and they farm most of it.

In town, most of the buildings are much like it was in 1863.

We had a great visit.  The museum and the battlefield were great.

Gettysburg

Mr. Lincoln at Gettysburg.  I try to take a few troops with me when I travel.  Mr. Lincoln from Strelets.

This is the cyclorama, a massive painting of the Battle of Gettysburg.

The painting is highly detailed.

I used the panoramic lens on my camera.

Gettysburg is covered with monuments to the various units.

Crossed swords of the cavalry.

Arlington

The Tomb of the Unknowns.

Items left by visitors.

The Old Guard watch over the dead.

Final resting place of an American hero, known but to God.

It is a great honor to become one of these soldiers.

Arlington

During WWII FDR used a wheelchair, but it was almost never photographed.

Dr. King.  A very impressive monument.

Remember the Maine!  Their monument at Arlington National Cemetery.  That's the main mast from the battleship.

The names of each sailor or Marine are written around the monument.

The entry to the monument, note the anchors at the bottom.

D.C.

Reference material for those Earth vs the Flying Saucers wargame scenarios.  Jefferson Memorial.

Mr. Jefferson.

Washington and Lincoln.

The monuments are quite spectacular at night.

Mr. Lincoln.
