Shooting the Big Guns

The Fire Direction Center is a busy place. Radios and message traffic coming and going.

Many documents are processed quickly to insure timely responses to target data.

Training is important, so much so that a spare cannon is brought along, just in case one gun has a malfunction the crew can continue training.

This extra gun is seldom used, but is important to insure essential training is completed. Range time is valuable and can't be wasted.

The firing line is a busy place with loads of activity. Ammo handling, security, fire direction, are constant features of the firing of artillery. Safety monitoring is critical too, even in practice live ammunition is used and mistakes can cause death or serious injury to the soldiers. Even a Cold War results in soldiers dieing for freedom.
